In October 2016 the auto-ignition and explosion of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smart phones came to a head.  The Korean company walked away from the Note 7 at the cost of billions of dollars, but well worth preservation of the long-term reputation of Samsung Corp.  Here is a brief recount of the story.
